While stuck in the car for an hour yesterday, the radio spoke to me.
It said “Hey Tim, since we’re gonna be trapped together for a while today, why don’t I do you the favor of only playing songs that bring back horrible memories of the darkest, worst times of your life? Don’t worry, no matter how much you flip stations, I’ll just keep pulling up all those moments and emotions you’ve worked so hard to repress!”
My brain responded with “Fuck you Radio!”, but try as it might, it was unable to fight back.
And it didn’t help matters when my heart chimed in with “Well, at least we will know all the words to all the songs. Maybe it will be fun to sing along?!”. (freakin’ tratior!)
The lesson to be learned here… For the sake of my fragile sense of sanity and self, I really need to load up my phone with some new tunes.
